[mehr]Nestled at the 4th floor of a historical building, The Golden Eagle Hostel was the former home of Count Lajos Karoly -who constructed the building and gave it as a special wedding present to his wife Countess Katalin Andrassy. The Count called the building 'The Golden Eagle Yard' and put on its front -at the top- a gigant golden eagle with its wings opened, then an important emblem of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Besides its great history, The Golden Eagle Hostel is an small, friendly, open minded and homely hostel ideally located in downtown Budapest, close to everything but specially close to the National Museum, the splendid Central Hall Market and the Danube river with Gellert and Rudas Thermal Baths. The area is well known for its many pubs, cafes, restaurants and places of entertainment as well as it is safe and the enviroment is fresh and pleasant. We offer bright, spacious and clean mixed 8 beds dormitories with comfortable and extra-large bunkbeds and private double bed rooms.The hostel provides free use of linen, free self-serving coffee and tea, free use of kitchen for self-catering, free use of lockers -with individual key- free maps and brochures, a flexible check-out time policy and no curfew made us a very attractive option.NOTES. 1) Please pay attention to select the accurate arrival time to the hostel as we do NOT have 24-hour recdeptioist. If there are any changes in your arrival time please do not forget to inform us your new arrival time.2) The hostel is situated in a more than 100 years old reesidential building, so it is important to keep quiet specially late at night (after 10 pm). 3) The price is given in Hungarian currency and the payment needs to be made in cash at arrival and it can be made in euros as well at the actual selling price.
