[mehr]From the turn of the century, Deià was already known among the bohemians, artists and writers of the day, such as Manuel de Falla, D. H. Laurence, Arthur Rackhan and Anaïs Nin, as a place where the spcectacular scenery and peaceful way of life were conducive both to relaxation and inspiration.
In those days, visitors would stay at this family-run pension whose relaxed atmosphere, clean rooms, reasonable prices and friendly service earned it the nickname of S'hotel des Puig (the hotel of the hill) as well as a page in the living history of the village and in the literature of the time (it features in a short story by Robers Graves and in Gordon West's Jogging Around Majorca).
Over half a century has gone by since then and s'Hotel still preserves all it's original simple elegance, while making a few small allowances to modern times: each of it's eight rooms has its own bathroom with shower,telephone, TV and internet acces, as well as hot and cold air conditioning. We also have a swimming pool and bar service.
