[mehr]The Edinburgh Farmers' Market is located on Castle Terrace and is open every Saturday throughout the year from 9 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon. Vendors are screened and accepted through Essential Edinburgh. About one in four vendors offer Meat, Fish & Diary products, including organic as well as a range of exotic products such as ostrich and wild boar. Other vending categories include Fruit Veg & Plants, Juices & Drinks (hard and soft), Sweets & Baking, and Speciality Produce (included hand-crafted products). Preference for stalls is given to local vendors.
Essential Edinburgh offers a Web-based listing of all vendors, including a calendar for which vendors will be available for each day. Demonstrations and recipe-sharing are often part of the program for each given week.
