[mehr]Ribblehead Viaduct near Ingleton has 24 massive arches and is 400 metres long, the arches are about 32 metres above Batty Moor. It was built using manual labourers (no machinery) and is said to have taken 6,000 men around seven years to build.
It is a grade 2 listed building and if you want a ride along this track and over the viaduct there are regular trains and occasional steam trains along the 72 mile long track.
