[mehr]The Nevada State Museum offers the visitor a chance to see behind the neon lights and glamour of Las Vegas and find out a bit more about the past of the 41th State.
Permanent exhibits inform about the history of the region, earth science and biological science. Visitors will meet the life-size model of a 48-foot-long ichthyosaur , view the skeleton of a sloth and ice-age horse and numerous fossils. The displays also trace the history of human life in the area and for all those who are more interested in the more modern history, there is an exhibition area about nuclear testing in Nevada.

The museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm, except from major holidays
