This lovely country hotel is ideally located for excursions to anywhere on Iceland's ruggedly beautiful south coast and Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajokull. They are architecturally unremarkable, obviously built for practicality rather than looks to withstand some of the world's wildest weather. The restaurant is also noteable for its lovely views over the surrounding countryside from its huge windows.
